Aarhus is a mere 170 km from the German/Danish border and the tollfree E45 highway takes you to Aarhus from Kiel in less than 4 hours.
You can also fly to Aarhus Airport (AAR) which is only 30 minutes drive from Aarhus or Billund Airport (BLL) about an hour away.
From Copenhagen it is 3 hours by train to the centre of Aarhus. By car it is 3 hours. Else you can take the highspeed ferry between Sjælland and Aarhus. About 1 hour.
